Build Command Team (BUILD)

A Student-led Not-for-Profit Organization at Texas A&M University (TAMU)

BUILD "Access to Care" Program:
BUILD is a student-run, registered 501(c)3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to unite the student body through a large-scale, physically demanding service project, transforming 40-foot shipping containers into fully functional medical clinics for communities in need worldwide. Since 2013, the BUILD Service-Learning program at TAMU has constructed 63 medical clinics deployed across 24 countries on 5 continents. Over 20,000 TAMU students have provided healthcare access to over 200,000 people. The BUILD program has recently been awarded a $12 million grant to provide 30 containerized health clinics in rural counties across Texas. The Build Command Team will construct and deploy 10 clinics per year beginning in the 2027-2028, with 1-year project planning period to commence in the 3rd week in September 2026.
