 Center for Climate Solutions, Proposed:
Governors Island is a 172-acre island in the heart of New York Harbor.  The Island is an award-winning park complemented by dozens of historic buildings, year-round educational and cultural facilities, a rich arts and culture program, and a 22-acre National Monument managed by the National Park Service.

On October 13, 2021, the Renewable Nations Institute submitted an " Expression of Interest" to the City of New York (NYC) and the Trust for Governors Island (Trust) to participate as an anchor education institution in the emerging "Center for Climate Solutions" on Governors Island. The Institute continues to review the feasibility of developing a Federal Work College Program on Governors Island and is researching a proposed Work College model.

The Institute is currently planning a Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) in partnership with the City of New York and multi-sectoral stakeholders
to conduct an adaptive reuse study of Building 409 (located in the Colonel's Row Historic District) to serve as the proposed international headquarters for the United Nations Junior Ambassador Fellowship Program.
